#TGIFc50, Picture Perfect, Watercolor Wishes, Papercraft by Jennifer Frost, Perfectly Artistic DSP

It's Friday and I'm back with another TGIF challenge, this time a sketch (my favourite)!

I've gone with an array of bright and happy yellow Picture Perfect roses today.  I just love the Watercolour Wishes card kit sentiments - they are so pretty and a perfect compliment to these blooms.

I hope that you'll head over to the TGIF challenge page to say hi, find loads more inspiration and play along too!

#TGIFc50 Picture Perfect Sketch Challenge

Hello!  I'm so happy to welcome you to my very first post as a member of the Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team. I'm so glad that you have stopped by!

A little about my Stampin' Up! Journey

I discovered paper-crafting when I first came across a local Stampin' Up! class almost 5 years ago.  I fell in love with the hobby immediately.  I had zero supplies and wanted everything in the catalogue.  I didn't have a clue what to start with for my first order.  My demonstrator told me about the Stampin' Up! starter kit and the benefits of being a demonstrator and I was sold. I never imagined I would be more than just a hobby demo, but then some months later I was asked to run a workshop.  This led to another workshop booking, which led to another... before I knew it I had a fun little hobby business which fit in perfectly around my role as a Stay-at-Home Mum.

Today, I love sharing my Stampin' Up! creations not only in classes of my own, but also through my blog here! Through this blog I've had such fun participating in online design challenges and seeing the gorgeous paper creations of other crafters from around the world - particularly the work of the talented Stampin' Up! Artisan's.

The Artisan Invitation

It was a dream come true to receive a call from Aaron at our Australian Stampin' Up! Head Office to be told I'd been selected for the 2015-2016 Artisan Design Team. Stampin' Up! have selected just 20 of their demonstrators from around the world (and just 2 from Australia) to be on this team.  I had to keep the secret of my selection to myself for a couple of weeks - this was so so tricky.
I am overwhelmingly amazed, proud and blessed to be asked to join this journey with such a ridiculously talented group of ladies!

What being an Artisan means

Every fortnight I will be sharing creations here on my blog made using goodies Stampin' Up! have sent the team.  Here is a glimpse of whats inside the box Stampin' Up! sent to get us started.

There are so many fun new sneak peeks from the upcoming Occasions Catalogue (set to be released next month) to play with. It felt like Christmas had come early when this amazing delivery arrived at my door last week!! But alas, between Christmas preparations and end of year events being planned and undertaken I haven't had a chance to play with any of it yet - it's a crime!!

Today's Creation

The English Garden designer series papers are so pretty.  I decided to pull them out and pair them with the Watercolor Wings butterfly.  It is the beginning of Summer here in Australia.  I've been taking the kids and dogs out early in the morning for our daily walk to avoid the heat.  We have such pretty bush surrounds where I live and beautiful nature tracks.  At the moment, we are seeing so many butterflies out dancing as we venture along the path.  I was inspired by their warm yellow, orange and brown tones for my butterfly here.

The sentiment is from the Silhouette and Scripts exclusive hostess stamp set.  I love that I can get the white text on a coloured background without needing to pull out my heat embossing tools and powders.

Meet the rest of the Team

Kindergarten is coming to an end for my son and I'm a little sad that we will be saying goodbye to so many teachers who have been a part of our journey over the last few years.  I put together these little Sticky Note holder thank you gifts - I wonder if they will pop them up on their desks and remember Mr J as they makes notes during their busy days.

Because I had to make quite a few, I wanted to keep the design clean and simple.  I find using designer series patterned papers are a great way to incorporate lots of colour without having to do lots of stamping.  I've chosen to feature the English Garden papers here, framing them with the largest of the Bold Butterfly dies.

I love that these sticky note holders fold down flat, with the the cover popping up easel style to sit up on and decorate the desk.

It took a while to get the template right, I hope to have a tutorial ready to share with you soon!  What teacher gift idea did you decide to go with this year?

I had some of this beautiful English Garden patterned paper leftover on my desk from making my TGIF sketch challenge submission this week and thought it would be fun to create a matching card.  It was super quick to do too!  I suppose that is the upside to having all the decorative work done for you with a lovely paper like this.

If you haven't already, pop over to TGIF Challenges to see sketch inspiration and submit your own take on the challenge- we'd love to have you join us!

#TGIFc29 Sketch Alternative

November 18, 2015

It's a sketch challenge this week over at the TGIF challenge blog.  I kept it 'clean and simple' with my design today.  This patterned paper from the English Garden pack is just so pretty and elegant.  Rather than cut it straight, I fussy cut around some of the leaves to create a little overhang across the lines of the sketch.

The Watercolour Wishes kit has the most beautiful sentiments.  I had a special request for some Sympathy cards and reached for this 'You're in my thoughts' stamp.  I think the soft tones and watercoloured look of the flowers in the pattern suit the theme of a sympathy card nicely.

Sketch challenges are one of my favourites, I can't wait to see what the other designers come up with.  Be sure to head on over the TGIF blog to see their amazing creations and play along too!

You are really going to love this weeks TGIF challenge. It is simply to take inspiration from the picture and make whatever your heart desires!

Here I've mixed flowers from my Everything Eleanor set with the colours I interpreted from the pic - watermelon and pumpkin.  Then I masked them and added swirls of pirouette and a side strip of soft suede.

I've loved the sentiments from the Watercolor wishes card kit set since I first saw them in the new catalogue.  I picked up the whole kit in my last delivery just for the beautiful collection of stamps.

I hope you've enjoyed this project and that you have time over this next week to join us at TGIF challenges.  With a challenge so widely open to interpretation it is always fun to see how creative people are with their designs.
