DIY Stamped Fondant Cake Toppers

I'm not much of a cake decorator but I do love stamping.  So when it came time to make cupcakes for my child's birthday celebration, I decided to try my hand at mixing the two crafts to make these personalised fondant toppers.  They were a real hit at the party!  Want to make your own?  Of course you do!!

Mind you, it made SO much - I still have over half in the fridge!

Creativity Your Way, Annual Catalogue Launch Party June 2017

This month I collaborated with my crafty friends, Tanya Rees and Tracy Bish, to host a card making party in Bendigo in celebration of the new annual Stampin' Up! catalogue.  We had a wonderful time crafting with everyone who participated!  All the feedback we have received from attendees so far has been so positive - it makes all the hard work that went on behind the scenes worthwhile!  

Salted caramel or dark salted chocolate, what's your preference?  These little popcorn treat bags were given to all guests upon arrival.  They were wrapped in a strip of the new Foil Frenzy Specialty Designer Series Papers.  The Ready to Pop stamp set was, of course, perfect for decorating the labels!

Now a little about my card.  I have a super clever cake decorating friend who asked me to make her some Kate Spade themed birthday invitations last year.

When I looked at the Cake Crazy stamp set, I thought about her and her gorgeous cake creations.  So I was inspired to make a Cake Crazy card, Kate Spade style.

Basket Bunch Easter Gift Boxes

It's almost Easter time! Every chocolate lover's favourite time of year.  Time to get creative with those Easter gift ideas!  I was inspired by Susan Wong to put the gift box punch board to work this Easter in creating this set of gift boxes.  The decorative toppers make a great gift tag alternative - wouldn't these double as great cupcake toppers too!

Of course, the Easter basket is a classic gift theme this time of year!  Simply attach a strip of cardstock, like I've done here, to instantly upgrade this box into a cute basket with a little handle.

#TGIFc76 Happy Halloween

When I saw this TGIF colour challenge I still had this week's Jar of Haunts project fresh in my mind and thought it would be a fun to make another Halloween-themed design!

I really liked the way the mummy jar turned out when stamped on crumb cake.  I coloured several of the bandages with blender pen and white craft ink.  I applied the ink quite heavily and the cardstock started to peel a little in places which I thought was a perfect effect for a 'fabric' look.

I stamped an extra mummy on white card stock and fussy cut and layered other bandages in places to help brighten this feature.

I was inspired by our previous sewing challenge to pick up a needle and thread and add some dangling spiders to the top of the card.

#TGIFc65 Cut the Cake

We celebrated my son's 7th birthday this month.  I put together this little cake topper set to decorate his cake.

I'm sharing this project as part of this week's TGIF 'cut the cake, or whatever...' theme challenge.

Each topper started with a die circle framelits die base and I've built up stamped elements from a number of sets to complete (see details below).

Alix and David's Wedding Invitation Suite

I had the pleasure of designing the wedding invitations for Alix and David who celebrated their wedding earlier this month in a scenic Central Victorian country setting. The couple wanted their invitations to reflect the rustic beauty of the venue. The bride supplied me with some burlap ribbon and twine.  I combined these with simple and natural coloured cardstocks and design to create this invitation suite.

The suite consisted of three pieces, a custom designed invitation, directions card and wishing well. The direction and wishing well cards were slipped behind the invitation and secured with a bellyband made of the burlap and tied with natural twine.

The Stampin' Up! Bouquet Toss stamp set has a lovely 'Mr and Mrs' sentiment that I thought would be the perfect finishing touch to this project.  The tags were each handstamped and heat embossed in black lending a raised, shiny look to the image.

Event Stationary - LMK Shine the Light on Prems Ball 2014

Gatsby inspired style is all about glitz, glamour, and opulence.  The attendees at last month's LMK Shine the Light on Prems annual ball certainly embraced this 1920's theme wholeheartedly.  This year a black and gold colour scheme was chosen for the stationary. 

Framed table numbers featured Stampin' Up! Gold foil sheeting, hand stamped and punched Label Love stamp set outline and die cut gold numbers.
