About

Hi there!  Thank you for stopping by to learn more about me.

I joined Stampin' Up! in May 2011.  I was brand new to the hobby of paper crafting and I couldn't resist the lure of a 20% discount on all my crafty shopping.  It wasn't long before I was contacted by another crafty local who asked to host a workshop!  From there, this hobby has continued to bring amazing people into my life, both locally and around the world, and has become a huge part of my life!

Today, I continue to run a regular craft class on the first Sunday of every month. Find upcoming dates and bookings accepted online *HERE*.

I've also had the amazing honour of being awarded the Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team award in both 2015-2016 and again in 2018.

A bit more about me:
I live in Bendigo, Victoria with my very handy Carpenter hubby and our two young, beautiful, complex children.  We have a small home that we are currently renovating.  I'm excited because hopefully one day soon I'll be able to move from the small nook in the lounge room into my very own craft room!

Q&A:
Day or night? How often do you craft?
If I get to craft through the day it is a real treat for me!  However, the demands of a young family mean I often only get the chance to craft after the kids have gone to bed.  I try to have a least two nights a week where I can put aside my other priorities and play!

Do you create one thing at a time or have several projects on the go at once?
I am a messy artist so I do like to get one project done before starting another – otherwise my desk becomes so cluttered with tools, materials and equipment it becomes almost impossible to be productive.

What inspires you?
I find cardmaking easiest when I have a specific request, recipient and/or event in mind and a good sketch to draw it all together.

Do you ever lose your Mojo? How do you get it back?
When the kids don't sleep well, or if I feel overwhelmed with a large to-do list, my creativity suffers!  To get it flowing again I like to browse my collection of magazines, or websites like Pinterest or Instagram, for layouts and/or techniques that I might be able to CASE with products from my stash.

What’s your favourite colour combination?
I have a romantic, soft style.  I love neutral colours, particularly Stampin' Up!'s Crumb Cake and Sahara Sand, with a pop of colour.  Natural green tones are a fav!

Do you create quickly or agonise over each decision?
Before putting a project together I stamp and cut everything and lay all the elements of the design out in front of me.  If something doesn't feel right I set the project aside overnight and look over it again the next day before sticking it all together – agonising over little adjustments until I am happy.

Is there a particular theme or product that you find difficult to make?
I find papers with lots of bright colours and busy patterns difficult to use.

Ever bought a product and never used it?
Guilty! Patterned papers that have retired before I had a chance to feature them in class or Big Shot dies that I thought would be fun to play with and just haven't had a chance to get them out yet!  This is one of the key reasons I gathered some friends together and started the Crafty Carrot Collective!  The Crafty Carrot Co is a series of interactive online classes for stampers all over the globe. The whole idea is to help you decide which products to buy and then equip you so you can get the most out of them. While it's ideal to have our focus products on hand, you can certainly still join and get lots out of our program by using what you already have in your stash.  Learn more *HERE*.

Do you have a favourite technique/look/composition that you like to use often?
I love tags and cards with tags in their layout.  I also really like the current trend of adding little loops of twine to projects.

My Stampin' Up! Frost and Friends Team:
I have a wonderful team of crafters from all over Australia called Frost and Friends. We have a Facebook Group where we all encourage and support each other and of course share our love of papercraft, stamping and life in general!
