#TGIFc37 Sketch

Plaid patterning seems to be the uniform for picnic rugs where I am here - is it the same for you?  We are going to a Teddy Bear's picnic party on the weekend to celebrate a 5th birthday.  I was inspired to incorporate a plaid pattern using some strips of cardstock into my take on this week's TGIF challenge sketch design.

I reached for my brand new Balloon Builders stamp set for the teddy and balloon decorations.  It's a photopolymer set and the beauty of these of course is you can see straight through them when you are stamping to help get things lined up right where you want them.  I stamped the 'happy' on a bit of a curve whilst masking off the 'birthday' from the bottom.  Then I stamped again masking the 'happy' off the top and lining the 'birthday' up alongside the happy for my banner.  I then used my scissors to snip in-between each letter to create a faux banner for the teddy to hold.

Be sure to pop on over to the TGIF challenge blog to find more sketch inspired designs and find out more about playing along - we love to see your creations too!

  1. This is so cute birthday sketch. The card is looking very sweet. Thanks dear for the pictures. At some popular event space NYC I am also going to throw a pink party for my little princes. Actually she loves pink so it would be perfect for her birthday decorations.
