Welcome to another round of the Fancy Friday blog hop! We are a group of past and present Stampin' Up! Artisans who love to bring you fresh inspiration each month. This May, we are inspiring you pull out those designer series papers and make pretty things with them!

It's a huge goal of mine right now to get my collection of patterned papers off the shelf and turned into projects.  While looking through my stash, I came across some sheets of this beautiful blue and green Share What You Love pattern.  It is a heavy weight paper with a lovely translucent, pearlised finish. I wanted to show it off one last time before it retires on Monday.

Share What You Love, Fancy Friday Blog Hop

Today, I'm joining the Fancy Friday blog hop for a CASE the Catalogue Challenge!  In class earlier this month, I featured this little faceted gift box made using the Gift Bag Punch Board.
I first saw this interesting project when Jessica Winter created it for the Stampin' Up! Corporate blog a few years ago.  Upon searching, I sadly couldn't find her original post. So I investigated further and found that Julie Dimatteo had a video tutorial - brilliant, thanks Julie!
Once I had the box base, I
drew inspiration from a pretty package, found on page 19 of the Annual Catalogue, for the final decorative touches.

I choose the Share What You Love Speciality Designer Series papers for my lids.  These papers have a great weight for 3D projects and their pretty patterns with their shimmery detail are perfect for layering a few embellishments on.
The sentiment comes from the Itty Bitty Sentiments set.  I like the generic 'For You' as you could use these for any occasion.  I think mine will be gifted this Easter with a few tiny treats inside!

These boxes made for a SUPER FUN class project!  Whilst Julie's video was awesome for helping me put the class sample together, I found a step-by-step instructional worksheet was best for walking my class group through the project on the day.  Let me tell you, everyone was in awe of this unique use for the Gift Bag Punch board and raved about how they look forward to making their own boxes at home!

Diamond Shaped Gift Box, Fancy Friday Blog Hop

Every so often I change things up in class, moving away from greeting cards and giving participants a chance to try their hand at something different!  This month we made this Perpetual Calendar featuring the Share What You Love designer series papers.  Wanna peek inside? Of course you do!

Using patterned papers as a base for the calendar meant each page had a different look, even though two months share a panel (one front, one back).

We cycled through a series of embellishments for each page, some stamped and some fussy cut from the pretty papers themselves!

Despite being a very advanced project, the two new-to-class participants that joined the session for the first time did awesomely!

For a full look through this project, as well as a tutorial for putting one together yourself at home, see my YouTube video *HERE*

Many participants mentioned they would love to make more as gifts for friends and family!  So I thought it would be fun to share with them an idea for a matching gift card.  This project was inspired by the amazingly talented Jenni Pauli.

Could this little notecard be any more perfect for giving purpose to all those scrap pieces of patterned paper created in the making of a project such as this???

[PRINTABLE] Share What you Love Perpetual Calendar

Last week a set of my cards went live on the Stampin' Up! Corporate Blog - yay! Here's what I wrote:

Once tricky stamping techniques are now a breeze with the brand new Stamparatus!  Take shadow stamping for instance. Adding subtle, professional shadowing to the bold 'Sorry' in these projects was so quick and easy with the new tool!

How? To start, I positioned a piece of cardstock to the top left of my Stamparatus and secured it with a magnet.  Then I placed my stamp from the Sorry for Everything Stamp Set face down on the paper and closed the plate to pick up the stamp.  I lifted the plate, added ink (tone on tone the same colour as the cardstock) then reclosed to stamp the word.  Allow the ink to dry.

TIP: I used my heat tool to ensure this first stamped layer was dry, this is going to be important in achieving a clean heat embossed layer thereafter.

Next, I positioned the paper exactly where it was again, bringing it down from the top of the Stamparatus edge just a tiny bit, a few millimeters, as pictured.

Then I applied VersaMark to the stamp and closed the plate to re-stamp the word.  I added Stampin' Emboss Powder in white and heat set with the Heat Tool to complete the technique.

One of the key benefits of the Stamparatus is you can stamp multiples of the same project quickly and precisely.  Whilst the stamp was all set up and ready to go, I couldn't resist creating a full collection of these lovely shadowed sentiments.

I've paired these stamped panels with the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Papers.  Bows of linen thread added a little texture and I've layered in touches of shimmer by way of Pearlized Doilies, strips of Glimmer Paper in Gold or Silver, and swashes of Metallic-Edge Ribbon in Berry Burst or Gold.

I hope you've enjoyed this set of cards and it encourages you to break out your Stamparatus and give a little shadow stamping of your own a try!
