Blast Off! - Creation Station Blog Hop #2

Very soon Stampin' Up! will launch their new catalogue.  While it is fun and exciting to have new goodies to browse, there are always sets I am sad to see retire.  This super cute Blast Off set is one of these.  It is also one of the products chosen to feature in this, the second round, of the Creation Station Blog Hop.

I've put together two designs for this hop.  In the second design below, I've incorporated one of the other featured products - some baker's twine.  If you are a follower of my blog, you will notice I've had a bit of a bakers twine addiction of late.  I'm loving adding little loops of the stuff to my layouts.  In this card I've positioned the twine to mimic a cord connecting the little space cadet with his rocket (not pictured).

By chance, another creation I have made using this set features in the latest addition of the Australian Cardmaking, Stamping and Papercraft Magazine, Vol 20 No 8.  Take a peak when you are next at the newsagent!

Blast Off! - Creation Station Blog Hop #2

Blast Off! Happy 4th Birthday...

My son celebrated his 4th birthday this week.  I created these invitations digitally and then used the Stampin' Up! Blast Off stamp set  to hand stamp and cut the rocket, planet and moon to layer over the top.

We wanted to give a small thank you treat to all our party guests.  The Milky Ways and Mars Bars were chosen because of their 'outer space' themed names.  Three of these fun sized chocolate bars fit nicely into the Stampin' Up! 10.2 x 15.2cm cellophane bags.  The Top Note die shape folded in half long ways was stapled over the top of the bag to enclose it and then I decorated with matching imagery again from the Blast Off stamp set.

Of course I had to make a matching card for the birthday boy too!

Blast Off... Retro Sketches #32

This fun, bright children's card features the new 'Blast Off' Stamp Set by Stampin' Up!  I had some leftover strips of Celebrations Designer Series Paper (now retired) and used these to guide the colour palette.
