My beautiful girl turned 3 this week.  We had a little family get together with cake to celebrate.  I'm not much of a cake decorator, but as you all know, I do love playing with paper!  So I let someone else bake and I put together this cake topper to add my own special touch to this birthday treat.

I started by cutting a number of the Botanical Builder Framelit die leaves in Always Artichoke and sticking them together with Tear and Tape adhesive to create the base for the floral banner.  Then I added a spray of blooms in Melon Mambo pink and white tones, with extra leaves in Old Olive.

The Large Number Framelit die was perfect for the '3' which I cut from Blushing Bride Glimmer paper.  Once the banner was finished I stuck it to some bamboo skewer sticks I had floating around in my kitchen draw ready for the cake.

The birthday girl had a lovely birthday and it was a pleasure to share in the joy and excitement of it all with her.

3rd Birthday Cake Topper

I'm mixing up some of our new floral sets with a few retiring favourites in this scrapbooking project for the Artisan blog hop today!  The Zoo Babies stamp set has such beautiful little animal imagery - perfect to compliment these photographs taken on a family trip to the Royal Melbourne Zoo this past summer.

There were some beautiful red blooms in the background of these pictures taken at the frog statue.  I was inspired by these to add a bloom of my own to the centre of the layout with the Botanicals Builder Framelit dies.  The coordinating Botanicals Blooms stamp set had some fun stripes and scattered little flowers to add a bit of interest to the 12 x 12"background.

I've added a little grid card to this pocket panel for my journaling.

The patterned Go Wild Paper Stack was an easy choice for adding a little decoration throughout each spread.

The sentiment here is from the Grateful Bunch set.  I've used it's sister on my 12 x 12" layout as well as the butterfly from this set in the pocket card below.

Thank you for stopping by.  I hope you've enjoyed this little memory keeping project!
