Welcome to another post for the Creation Station Blog Hop. Butterfly Basics is the stamp set being featured this round. I wanted to step out of my comfort zone a little bit with my colour scheme this week. I was inspired by THIS combination of golds, black, pistachio and tangerine from the Stampin' Up! pinterest page.
I chose a layout with lots of layers, starting with some gold patterned vellum on a white card base. The 'I love lace' background stamp has the same patterning as the butterfly from the stamp set. So I used this in Whisper White craft ink on black card to create the background. Then I've added some pistachio pudding punched with the Spiral Border.
I layered my butterflies, stamping the largest in VersaMark and heat embossing in gold, with the little worded butterfly in Tangerine Tango on top.
The card is a little different from my usual style but I'm happy with how it turned out - what do you think?
