It's all about birds and babies in this round of the Creation Station blog hop challenge. This first design I'm sharing features the For the Birds Stamp Set.
My favourite colour combination is Crumb Cake with a pop of colour. Here I've teamed it with blue, red and a touch orange from the brights collection of colours. My blue birds are heat embossed in white and then coloured using Aqua Painters in whisper white craft ink and pacific point blue. I love the Stampin' Up! grosgrain ribbons! This blue one is currently available in the Occasions catalogue here in Australia until the 30th June. I've handsewn it to the card front, looping it to the left of my framed feature to create a little pleat effect.
We know a few people who are expecting new additions to their families very soon, so I was very happy to be making baby cards to share with you in this challenge! I've worked with the Baby, We've Grown stamp set and created both a girl and a boy variation.
The spotted pattern background comes from the Modern Medley designer series paper pack and I've teamed it here with Strawberry Slush. Because my little shoes have the words 'sweet girl' along side them, I varied the 'sweet baby' sentiment from the set to read 'hello baby' by making a little banner of the word 'hello' from the Teeny Tiny Sentiments set. The pretty button is from the Very Vintage Designer buttons collection.
For the boy variation, I've teamed the same spotted paper with a touch of Soft Sky blue and Real Red. The colouring of the imagery in both designs was achieved with blender pen. Soft and flowing, this seam binding ribbon is the perfect embellishment for a baby design. And of course I couldn't resist sneaking on a button from my stash.
I hope that you have enjoyed these projects. Now be sure to hop on over to see what the rest of the design team have created!
