I'm sharing a masculine project featuring Stampin' Up!'s Geared Up Garage stamp set today. At first glance, this set might have you thinking about projects for the car lovers in your life. However, the toolbox imagery makes for a great embellishment for any handyman or woman too.
This project was inspired by Susan Wong's design for the Crafty Carrot Co blog hop. I just loved her bold red colouring choice, stamped layers and grungy textures. You must check out her project and the other Geared Up Garage hop projects for some amazing inspiration using this set!

Supplies Used Stamps: Geared Up Garage Card: Whisper White, Smoky Slate Ink: Smoky Slate, StazOn Black Paper: Classic Garage Designer Series Paper, Silver Foil Accessories & Tools: Garage Gears Thinlet Dies, Linen Thread, Stampin' Write Markers in Black and Red, Watercolour pencils (red), Blender Pen Adhesives: SNAIL or double-sided tape, Stampin' Dimensionals, Tear'n'Tape, Fine Tip Glue Step by Step
Cut silver foil with large gears die. Glue to black patterned paper 75 x 120mm. Dog ear corner of black a little. Border with red patterned paper 78 x 123mm.
Colour sentiment with Stampin' Write markers and stamp on white card 92 x 20mm. Cut banner end and stick flat over gears. Add some linen thread. Stamp some subtle detail on front of folded Smoky Slate card 149 x 210mm. Adhere the decorated panel with dimensionals.
To finish, stamp tool box in StazOn on white. Once dry, colour with watercolour pencils and blend with blender pen. Cut with coordinating die. Add with dimensionals.
Today, I'm joining the Fancy Friday blog hop for a CASE the Catalogue Challenge! In class earlier this month, I featured this little faceted gift box made using the Gift Bag Punch Board. I first saw this interesting project when Jessica Winter created it for the Stampin' Up! Corporate blog a few years ago. Upon searching, I sadly couldn't find her original post. So I investigated further and found that Julie Dimatteo had a video tutorial - brilliant, thanks Julie! Once I had the box base, I drew inspiration from a pretty package, found on page 19 of the Annual Catalogue, for the final decorative touches.
I choose the Share What You Love Speciality Designer Series papers for my lids. These papers have a great weight for 3D projects and their pretty patterns with their shimmery detail are perfect for layering a few embellishments on.
The sentiment comes from the Itty Bitty Sentiments set. I like the generic 'For You' as you could use these for any occasion. I think mine will be gifted this Easter with a few tiny treats inside!
These boxes made for a SUPER FUN class project! Whilst Julie's video was awesome for helping me put the class sample together, I found a step-by-step instructional worksheet was best for walking my class group through the project on the day. Let me tell you, everyone was in awe of this unique use for the Gift Bag Punch board and raved about how they look forward to making their own boxes at home!

Every so often I change things up in class, moving away from greeting cards and giving participants a chance to try their hand at something different! This month we made this Perpetual Calendar featuring the Share What You Love designer series papers. Wanna peek inside? Of course you do!
Using patterned papers as a base for the calendar meant each page had a different look, even though two months share a panel (one front, one back).
We cycled through a series of embellishments for each page, some stamped and some fussy cut from the pretty papers themselves!
Despite being a very advanced project, the two new-to-class participants that joined the session for the first time did awesomely!

I LOVE a card-in-a-box! These little 3D works of art pack serious WOW factor! I've been lucky enough to witness a recipient or two open up their envelope and be a bit perplexed by the flat, odd looking card inside - and then the look on their face, the pure awe, when they open it up and see it all set up, is just wonderful.

Today I'm sharing this lidded box. It's one of my favourite gift packaging choices! It's so quick and easy to put together! But don't take my word for it, see for yourself in this video tutorial right *HERE*.
The box lid is made from the gorgeous Year of Cheer foil specialty paper. This paper needs no embellishing - it is just stunning all of its own. To allow the pattern to really shine, I kept my gift tag very simple and clean with tones of black, white and silver. With the exception of the touch of blushing bride in the leaves - this soft pink and copper is a very trendy combination!
