Stitching on cards is popular again, so pull out your needle or sewing machine and join the TGIF team for this week's Sewing and Stitches technique challenge!

I'm not overly handy with a needle and thread.  Most of our clothes that need a stitch or two end up at my Mum's house!  But I somehow managed to thread a needle and enjoyed putting a little hand-stitched touch on this Christmas card.

I went with the Peaceful Pines tree and used the coordinating framelit to die cut the holes.  Then I stitched with the gold thread, adding a little extra thread loops behind the sentiment banner.

The background was inspired by this gorgeous project by fellow Aussie Claire Daly.  I have a growing collection of washi tape and just loved this idea the second I saw it!  Thanks for the inspiration Claire!

Pieces of the Story, A Merry Wish

I'm back today with another Christmas scrapbook layout.  This time I chose to use more traditional reds and greens, with a little crumb cake. I had a stash of now retired Letters to Santa patterned paper lying around and this project was the perfect excuse to put some of these to use.

While in my previous layout I went with Christmas tree imagery, I decided to use the Wondrous Wreaths stamp set for these pages.  On the crumb cake bottom section of the traditional 12 x 12" layout I stamped the Wreath spots all over in whisper white ink.

I created a little card in the pocket scrapbook layout with the same spots in white on crumb cake.  The sentiment featured here is from the Enjoy the Little Things stamp set.

Over the weekend I ran another scrapbook class, this time featuring a New Years celebration theme.  I look forward to sharing this with you soon.

Pieces of the Story, Wonderful Christmas Scrapbook Class

Last year I was asked by some of the ladies in my paper-crafting class to start a scrapbooking session.  It was close to Christmas and I thought it would be nice to start with a festive layout.  I created both a traditional 12 x 12" layout as well as a pocket scrapbook page.

I featured stamped imagery in both layouts in an effort to show how easy it was to use your card-making supplies to also embellish scrapbook pages too.

This first class was a test case.  The ladies loved it so much we decided to have another just before Christmas.  It was also a holiday theme which I look forward to featuring here on my blog soon.

Memory keeping has become a regular part of my class schedule now.  Our next class will be held in my home on Sunday and I look forward to sharing with you the designs we will be creating very soon!

A Merry Wish, Class Gifts

No Christmas party would be complete without presents!  I held my last paper-crafting class for the year at the end of November and I put together these little gifts for all attending participants.  Inside was a mystery pack of 4"x 6"designer series paper.

Each gift tag had a Christmas tree from the Peaceful Pines stamp set and stamped ornaments in gold and a feature colour.  No two tags featured the same colour.  I used up pieces of now retired ribbon and off-cuts of patterned papers in matching tones to embellish and individualize each tag.

Participants got to choose which colour they were drawn to most.  Once everyone had chosen their gift I revealed another little surprise.

The ribbon on the tag they had chosen coordinated with another mystery gift!

Christmas Gift Boxes, In Class - November 2015

This weekend we celebrate our class Christmas Break-up!  Participants will make these four cute festive gift boxes as well as share some food, prizes and gifts.

This cute little Curvy Keepsake Christmas pudding was inspired by a tutorial by Amanda Fowler.  One of my downline, Sandra Mundy, had created these gorgeous little paper puddings for her family's Christmas in July celebrations and allowed me to borrow her box die so I could share the fun concept in class.

I attended the Stampin' Up! OnStage convention earlier this month and look forward to sharing some news and catalogue/Sale-a-bration sneak peeks.  As well as a host of inspiring swaps I collected from some other lovely demonstrators at the event.

Christmas, In Class - November 2015

Participants in class this weekend got the opportunity to make a start on their Christmas preparations with two festive card designs and matching gift tags.

The first card and tag set we made featured the Wondrous Wreath stamp and die collection.  For the colour scheme of this project I went with all new in-colours - mint macaron, cucumber crush and watermelon wonder.  The fun three-step stamping method of this set provides an easy, yet detailed feature - perfect for mass-producing cards. Plus the matching dies, including this gorgeous 'Joy' makes things even quicker!

I was a little naughty when it came to the second set of projects I'm about to share.  Normally I don't like to feature retired goodies in class but I had some gorgeous papers and products leftover in my stash that were just perfect for festive projects and couldn't resist pulling them out and using them.

This project also features a Wondrous Wreath stamp, this time for the sentiment.  The gorgeous tree is from the new Peaceful Pines set available in the current Occasions catalogue.  I went with a more traditional colour scheme for these designs of old olive, very vanilla, cherry cobbler and early espresso.

#TGIFc19 Colour Challenge

The new Holiday catalogue went live this week - what a wonderful excuse to play with some of the new goodies for this week's TGIF colour challenge!

I think Watermelon Wonder, Mint Macaron and Basic Black make a great colour scheme for Christmas themed projects.  So I decided to put together a little Christmas gift tag to share this week.

I've used the new Peaceful Pines stamp and matching framelit dies for this project.  As well as a little Winter Wonderland Vellum - I'm a sucker for vellum at the moment.

New holiday catalogue

I was certain I would not need another Christmas themed stamp set this year.  I have the current Wondrous Wreath set which is perfect for projects celebrating the upcoming holiday season. But then I received my copy of the newest Holiday catalogue and OMG, so much inspiration and an instant wish list!!

The release of the holiday catalogue has turned my mind to Christmas themed projects.  In an effort to try and better prepare for the hectic festive season I thought it would be fun to start having a few classes featuring Christmas goodies a bit early this year.
