Thrifty Craft Tips, Scrapbooking, Jar of Love, Stampin' Up!, Let's Get Hopping Blog Hop, Papercraft by Jennifer Frost

I've got something special to share with you today!  I have brought together a group of lovely paper artists who are sharing their favourite thrifty tips and tricks as part of the very first "Let's Get Hopping" blog hop.

MY TIP: Salvage those paper scraps!
I love when I've been able to put paper scraps to use on a project!  Not only it is great from a budget perspective but saving those little bits and pieces from the trash is less wasteful too!

For my project today I've chosen a selection of colourful contrasting scraps to make a gorgeous, eclectic garland to embellish this scrapbook page.

I've mixed and match different banner shapes, overlapping them along the top for a fuller look.  Before attaching the pieces to the background, I paper pierced them and added faux stitching using a white gel pen.  This unified the pieces, bringing the banner together nicely.

For a neat finish, I've added tiny bows of bakers twine to either end.

No full sheet of 12"x 12" paper was harmed in the making of this project. Try adding layers of larger panels of leftover patterns into your work.

Cake Crazy, Kate Spade Style, Jar of Love, Papercraft by Jennifer Frost, Stampin' Up!, TGIF Challenge

Dear TGIF challenge blog team,

Wishing you a very Happy 2nd Birthday!
Thank you so much for inviting me to your party.
Once upon a time, it was such a privilege to serve on your team of talented (and super lovely) designers.  And even though life got too busy to keep up with the design team commitment, I still just love following your journey and playing along where I can.  Your challenges inspire my cardmaking and continue to provide creative motivation to this day!

So Happy Birthday!!  Wishing you much success and love, Jenn xx

Now a little about my card.  I have a super clever cake decorating friend who asked me to make her some Kate Spade themed birthday invitations last year.

When I looked at the Cake Crazy stamp set, I thought about her and her gorgeous cake creations.  So I was inspired to make a Cake Crazy card, Kate Spade style.

Happy Mother's Day card by Jennifer Frost, Stampin' Up!, Basket Bunch, Jar of Love, Thoughtful Banners, Polka Dots, TGIF challenge, Shop Stampin' Up! goodies from my online store for FREE rewards program fun! Learn more today!

This week I've been busy putting the final touches on some designs for my next cardmaking workshop.  I decided to feature some of the beautiful products that made it onto the retiring list sale to give my participants one last chance to see them in action before they are gone for good!

All three class projects are quite feminine.  We celebrate Mother's Day in May so all attendees will have a special card ready for the occasion.

For this design, I used the pretty flowers from the retiring Basket Bunch set.  I put them in a 'vase' using the smallest jar from the Jar of Love stamps.  The sentiment comes from the Thoughtful Banners stamp set.  Participants in the class will have the opportunity to pick whatever sentiment they like from this versatile set when putting the final touches on their projects!

Here's to Cheers, Cheerful Tags Framelits Dies, Jar of Love, Stampin' Up!, Artisan Design Team, Gift Ideas, Papercraft by Jennifer Frost

Hello friends!  Welcome back to another Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team blog hop! Today I'm spoiling you with not just one, but three projects!

The season of giving is just around the corner.  I thought there was no better time to start sharing some ideas for prettying up gifts.

The Here's to Cheers stamp set and coordinating Cheerful Tags bundle are great for creative packaging, like this wine bottle gift tag, for instance.

All kinds of summer celebrations are popular here in Australia at this time of year.  I've gone with a colour scheme of copper, sahara sand and blushing bride in this project set.  I wanted to show how the products, whilst a perfect choice for festive celebrations, might suit other occasions like weddings too.

Peek-a-boo, don't you just love bringing an element of the inside of a card to the front?

And now a little gift tag!  The pretty paper with the leaves is from the Fancy Frost Specialty Designer Series paper (great name!!).  It comes in many patterns - all in white - which can be used as is or with a splash of colour using your choice of technique.  I've added subtle sahara sand sponging on mine.

Thanks for stopping by - please continue with the blog hop and see what Jess has for us today!

I hope you enjoy our projects - happy crafting!

Picture Perfect, Confetti Celebrations, Jar of Love, Stampin' Up!, #TGIFc66, Papercraft by Jennifer Frost

I love seeing all your TGIF submissions every week!  I was particularly inspired by this beautiful project by Mary Deatherage from our 'Cut the Cake' theme last week.

Whilst Mary went with Jar of Love flowers in a spray of purple and blue hues, I added some of the roses from the Picture Perfect stamp set in my CASE.

I accidentally smudged a little rich razzleberry ink on the card front so added some Timeless Textures spots to cover it up.  After all that layered stamping I was not going to scrap the work and start over.  What's your favourite technique for covering up a little unintended mess.

Thank you for stopping by.  I do hope you will join us at TGIF challenges this week!

#TGIFc66 Case Challenge

July 29, 2016

It's felt a bit chaotic in my household these past couple weeks.  We've been doing some minor home improvements which seem to have resulted in my entire house being turned upside down!  It's all worth it now though as I have a beautiful new shiplap feature wall in my living room - that I'm in LOVE with - and my little cozy craft nook is gratefully back in order!

Now that I have access to my craft space again, at the top of my to-do list was my design for this week's TGIF colour challenge.  I may have mentioned in the past that I find colour challenges particularly tricky.  When I remembered that Night of Navy and Watermelon Wonder where key colours in the beautiful Watercolor Wishes cardmaking kit I got a bit excited - how perfect for this challenge and super easy to put together too which, with school holidays in full swing here, was super appreciated!

Of course, whilst all the designs in this kit are just gorgeous, I couldn't resist putting my own twist on the design.  To do this, I simply added a cute jar and sentiment from the Jar of Love set.
