#TGIFc30 Watercolour Wings Remix

It's time for the monthly TGIF remix challenge.  I chose to combine this month's sketch and the crushed curry, cajun craze and soft suede colour scheme.  As it happens, I didn't have crushed curry in my collection so I've substituted with hello honey in this design.

I've featured the largest of the butterflies from the Watercolour Wings set.  I love the way the warm tones have come together in this pretty butterfly.  In the background I've added the Everything Eleanor flourish and a strip of English Garden DSP.  This particular paper has a pattern of stripes that have a slightly ombre look to them.

Notice the sentiment?  It's a sneak peek of the brand new Enjoy the Little Things stamp set that I was lucky enough to pick up at the OnStage Convention earlier this month.  I've mimicked the ombre look in my stamping to tie in with the pattern in the paper.

To finish I've added a spray of pearls and some loops of bakers twine.

#TGIFc27 Remix Challenge

It's Friday and that means it's time for another fun TGIF challenge. I've chosen to combine the 'Thankful' theme and the very pretty floral inspiration challenges for my Monthly Challenge Remix design today.

I love colouring on Crumb Cake with white and then layering over a pop of colour.  Watermelon Wonder and Tangelo Twist are the tones I went for here for the pretty Everything Eleanor white heat embossed flowers.

I cut the bottom of the Crumb Cake panel with the largest of the Labels Framelits dies.  The sentiment comes from the Kinda Eclectic set.

#TGIFc25 Inspiration Challenge

You are really going to love this weeks TGIF challenge. It is simply to take inspiration from the picture and make whatever your heart desires!

Here I've mixed flowers from my Everything Eleanor set with the colours I interpreted from the pic - watermelon and pumpkin.  Then I masked them and added swirls of pirouette and a side strip of soft suede.

I've loved the sentiments from the Watercolor wishes card kit set since I first saw them in the new catalogue.  I picked up the whole kit in my last delivery just for the beautiful collection of stamps.

TGIF#10 Colour Challenge

Thank goodness it's Friday!  The TGIF team are back with a new challenge - this lovely colour combination.  I have watercolouring on my mind this week in preparation for my upcoming class over the weekend.  So it felt natural to reach for my watercolour paper and aqua painters for this week's challenge.

I started by stamping the Everything Eleanor flower on watercolour paper with StazOn ink.  I added the stem - masking the end off so as to shorten it.  I then drew a border with my Project Life Journaling pen and painted island indigo within the drawn frame and the flower in blackberry bliss..

The sentiment comes from the Watercolour Wings set.  After stamping this I drew another round of borders with my pens.  To create the shadow effect around this second set of framing I picked up the smoky slate ink with my aqua painter and blended it out from the outline.

To finish the flower I added a jewel to the centre and some dazzling details.

This is mounted to the front of some island indigo card stock that's been spritzed with a little whisper white craft ink and stamped with the lovely Everything Eleanor flourish.

Together Forever #TGIFc08

This week's TGIF theme challenge is 'Together Forever'.  The Something to Say stamp set has some wonderful sentiment pairs.  The one featured here is great for designs celebrating marriages and anniversaries.   I wanted to match it with the very elegant Everything Eleanor imagery and my new favourite in-colour Mint Macaron.  All I needed was a great sketch to bring it all together.  The INKspired Artist’s blog hop came to the rescue this week.  Their creations popped up on my Pinterest feed and I thought the lovely banner design would work wonderfully.

Of course, with a matching sentiment I had to do a matching internal design.

Floral inspiration challenge #TGIFC04

There is an inspiring pretty picture this week at the TGIF challenge blog.

For me, I saw blooms in an array of pretty tones - Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral, slashes of Real Red and deeper Cherry Cobbler.  I chose to make flowers from the Everything Eleanor stamp set in these colours.

I tried to find a patterned paper in my collection that would compliment these shades - maybe a grid style like in the background of the TGIF image.  I came across this piece from the retired Sent with Love pack and thought it was perfect for my background.  I just added the Everything Eleanor swirl in red to tie in the red from the blooms and the Riding Hood red card stock I chose to border it with.

There are lots of yellow flowers sprinkled throughout the inspiration picture.  I added yellow colouring to the centre of my blooms and then paper punched some additional yellow flowers to scatter around to finish the design.

I love challenges like these, that help me put together designs I might never have otherwise.  Can't wait to see what others in the stamping community come up with!
