Simply Soft Thank You

Again this month the lovely Lisa generously opened her home up for us for class.  This was a special thank you card that I put together for her to let her know how much I appreciate her accommodating us.  The centre panel was originally an autumn inspired ATC that features two of my favourite retired Stampin' Up! sets called Simply Soft and French Foliage.  I've layered it up on matching card stocks and incorporated it in a card layout inspired by the current Freshly Made Sketches card challenge.

Thank you to all the ladies who attended today's class - it was a real pleasure to craft with you all.  And another thank you to Lisa for hosting!  Look forward to doing it all again in our next class session scheduled for December 7th.  For more information about this project or the upcoming class please don't hesitate to contact me.

In Class - June

This month class participants made three cards, each demonstrating a different colouring technique.

This deep Concord Crush purple is one of my favourite colours.  With the approach of the release of a new Stampin' Up! Catalogue it will not be long before this lovely colour retires.  The pretty flower on this card is from the Simply Soft Set, another soon to be retired product.  It lends itself perfectly to colouring, which has been done here in blender pen using matching inks.

While the image in the first card was stamped in Black Stayz on Ink to ensure the outline colour would not end up blended, in the project below Soft Suede Ink was used for the Elements of Style roses imagery to create a softer look when Blushing Bride Ink was applied with the blender pen.

Participants were shown how to use the Versamarker to add a touch of gold embossing to select parts of the images.

A stained glass effect was created in the third project.

The Simply Soft flower was stamped on vellum in VersaMark Ink and white embossed.  We then turned the paper over and coloured in the back of the image with a selection of Stampin' Write Markers.

In keeping with our colouring theme, the June class challenge is to create a card incorporating an image that has been coloured in a method of your choosing.  I look forward to seeing what you come up with!

Simply Soft Coloured with Blender Pen

I love this flower from the Simply Soft Stamp Set.  It lends itself perfectly to colouring.  Here I have used blender pens and Concord Crush Ink to colour in the petals, with Lucky Limeade Ink for the leaves.  I really like the pretty lace trim.  It adds a very soft, feminine quality to the card.  The little sentiment is from the Tiny Tags Set and I've used a safety pin to attach it, with a couple of extra decorative tags for company, to the lace.

Simply Soft

I have a suspicion that the Simply Soft exclusive hostess set will quickly become a personal favourite.  Since discovering the Aqua Painter I've had so much fun colouring and this set allows for that with three beautiful floral designs.  I've only featured one here but will have some designs featuring the others soon...
