It's almost December 1 and that means it's officially time to put up the tree and get into the Christmas spirit! This weekend I host my very last cardmaking class for 2018. I made this batch of cards especially for the lovely friends I'll see there at the session.

I always aim to get my Christmas cards out in the first week of December. I love the idea of these holiday wishes bringing someone a smile all month long. A display of cards from loved ones really makes a home feel like Christmas and truly is the nicest holiday decor!

As I was creating a batch, I stuck with a pretty simple sketch. The bold photo paper from the All is Bright Designer Series Paper pack made for the perfect quick background. The stamp comes from the Labels to Love set. I stamped it first in Soft Suede on the vanilla panel here, then again on a scrap piece of vanilla in Real Red. Cutting the 'Christmas' from the scrap red sentiment was easy - it's all straight lines - and made for a nice pop of colour to tie in with the reds throughout the design.

Cards for my fellow crafty friends can sometimes be a challenge as I want them to have something special that hasn't already been featured in a class session. I'm so grateful for today's Fancy Friday blog hop for motivating me to get these made just in time for this coming Sunday's event. My Christmas Cards, Fancy Friday

Lots of Christmas craft ideas coming your way today! The Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team are featuring the festive 'Making Christmas Bright' Bundle from the 2018 Holiday Catalogue. For my project, I'm sharing some quick gift tags.

For the tag bases, I watercoloured one piece of Watercolour Card in a mix of Melon Mambo, Petal Pink and Grapefruit Grove. Then I cut it into 8 evenly sized panels once dry.

Each tag was decorated with imagery from the Making Christmas Bright stamp set, stamped in VersaMark and heat set with gold embossing powder.

The adorable 'All is Bright' paper clips made it so easy to attach these to ribbon bows on these gift jars.

I'm a huge jar hoarder - I love having reused jars on hand to fill and gift out. These are filled with a Pumpkin Spiced Trail Mix, this tasty recipe is *HERE*.

Let it snow!

Today I'm joining a group of talented Stampin' Up! Artisan's - both past and present - in a Christmas themed Fancy Friday blog hop.

I chose to feature the limited time "Snowflake Showcase" products in my card today. I created my own snowy background paper by stamping the snowflakes in white craft ink on black card. Then I added some of the pretty snowflake die cut embellishments.

I layered the card front with the stone patterned paper from the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper. I love the subtle concrete texture, it's icy look seemed a perfect match for the snow theme.

Christmas with the Fancy Friday Blog Hop

It is now the perfect time of year to create something special together with friends! No matter how experienced you are at crafting, putting together beautiful Christmas projects is easy with the Sincerely Santa Tag kit.

This kit, from the current Holiday Catalogue, comes in a gorgeous candy striped tin and includes 30 printed tags: 6 each of 5 designs, and all the embellishments you need to give your presents in style this year.

Whilst the included tag 'recipes' for this project kit are super pretty, here at the Crafty Carrot Co we are gearing up for a month-long series of classes to give you inspiration for new ways to use these festive elements.

For our Crafty Carrot blog hop today, I decided to share an idea for mixing up the tag elements and using them to create quick and easy Christmas cards.

Busy! We are all so busy. Particularly at this, the tail end of the year, and the start of the hectic festive season.

It's the perfect time to simplify, especially with our craft projects! So I've challenged the Let's Get Hopping team to go back to basics and inspire you to create beautiful projects quickly and easily without all the gadgets!

Stamps, ink and paper - with a few pretty embellishments thrown in. That’s it!

For my card, I've gone with a Christmas theme. Very soon I'll need to create a stack of Christmas cards to hand out these holidays! This layout is one that could very easily be mass produced. Just a little patterned paper, some very quick stamping and a scatter of embellishments for wow factor and done!

I craft mostly for myself - it's a form of therapy for me. Because it's a creative outlet I tend to go heavy on the techniques, fussy cutting, colouring and layers. I found going simple a real challenge!

While in Canada earlier this month, I had the pleasure of crafting besides the amazing Krista Frattin (I'm still star struck)! She pumped out beautiful project after beautiful project so fast. When I asked her what her secret was, she confessed she was a lazy stamper. I was not expecting that! Whenever I look at any of her projects I'm totally in love. But after her confession I looked closer - she has a very simple style, employs lots of patterned papers for effect and is clever with layering embellishments. So when I was struggling with this theme I looked to her for inspiration and was drawn to this layout she shared last July *HERE*.
