You've Got This, Stampin' Up! New In-Colour Berry Burst, Lemon Line Twist Combination, Fancy Friday, Papercraft by Jennifer Frost, Cardmaking classes Bendigo

There is a lot of excitement in the paper crafting world this month in the lead-up to the release of the newest Stampin' Up! catalogue.

One of the first things we all want to see is the new in-colour collection!   Today the Fancy Friday team are playing with these latest colour releases and sharing some inspiring colour combinations with you.

I chose to play with the new Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist tones for my design.  I paired them with a soft watercolour technique featuring the 'You've Got This' bloom.

I'm really looking forward to sharing this design in my local Bendigo class tomorrow morning.  I've still got a spot or two free if you want to join us!

For those of you who would love to see this card being made but can't make it to class, I've decided to share a bit of a tutorial of it exclusively to my monthly newsletter subscribers.  I've had so many new people join my newsletter mailing list these past couple months.  I feel so loved with every subscription notification that comes through!  As a little thank you I thought it might be nice to gift my subscribers with a full tutorial of this project - I'll even share some behind the scenes detail on the inspiration for the layout and an alternate colour combo of this design too! Certainly some happy mail for you all to look forward to in June!

I can't wait to see what colours the rest of the talented Fancy Friday ladies have chosen to play with for you.  Click the link below to see what creative colour combination my Fancy friend Sue has to share!

Circle of Spring, Stampin' Up!, Mothers Day, Artisan Design Team, Papercraft by Jennifer Frost, You've Got This background, Gorgeous Grunge, Watermelon Wonder ribbon

Welcome to another round of the Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team blog hop!  I decided to play with the Circle of Spring stamp set today for this Mother's Day card.  I've stamped the wreath on crumb cake in VersaMark and heat embossed it in white before adding colour with my blender pens.

For the background, I hand-stitched the watermelon satin ribbon in pleats on a matching crumb cake base that has been stamped tone-on-tone with imagery from the You've Got It and Gorgeous Grunge sets.

I hope you've enjoyed seeing this project!  Don't forget to click the link below to visit fellow Artisan Jessica Williams.

Spring Wreath, Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop

March 31, 2016

Now that Christmas is over, it's time to get ready to welcome in the New Year.  This year my Stampin' Up! dreams to be an Artisan Design team member were realised.  I wonder what exciting adventures await in 2016?

Before I share a little about my card design today, I just wanted to give a big thank you to everyone who has supported my crafty ventures in 2015.  Whether you shared an encouraging comment here on the blog or on facebook, attended class, joined my Stampin' Up! team, placed a Stampin' Up! order and/or purchased some cards or invitations from me - I'm so grateful to you for keeping me going and brightening my days! Thank you.

I came up with two designs to send Happy New Year wishes out with this year.  In this first project I featured a bunch of soft balloons from the Balloon Celebrations set that will be available later this week when the Occasions catalogue launches. The balloons are decorated with numbers from the Back to Basics Alphabet from the main catalogue and I've added a touch of shimmer with the new clear Wink of Stella pen.

While in my first card I went with silver by way of a washi tape border, I opted to go with a touch of gold on my second design and used some patterned gold vellum for the background.  The little 2016 initially started out as balloons and then I cut them down into banner shapes.  The banner strings I created by positioning the balloon string stamp on the clear mount block so that it formed a curve.

To colour the 'happy' I first stamped some white with a Work of Art ink swipe in bermuda bay and then stamped the wording over the top in black.  I then handcut these letters and adhered them to the card front.

See you in 2016! I am looking forward to seeing what the New Year brings!

Now be sure to head on over to see what the talented Jessica Williams and the rest of the Artisan Design Team have in store for you!

Happy New Year, Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop

December 31, 2015

The Creation Station blog hop is back today with sneak peeks from the new catalogue - yay!

The gorgeous stamp set featured here is called 'You've Got This'.  I've white embossed the flower on watercolour paper and coloured it with blender pens and an array of gorgeous new in-colours - Watermelon Wonder for the petals, Delightful Dijon for the centre of the bloom and a mix of Mint Macaron and Cucumber Crush for the stem and leaves.  Tip Top Taupe is the panel behind the flower and it's stamped in the same tone with the background from the same stamp set.

Such a pretty set and the new colours are just lovely.  Can't wait to see what the rest of the team has done with the new goodies!  We have a new line up of talent on the hop too so it's an extra exciting round.

Creation Station, New Catalogue Sneak Peek

May 17, 2015

The new 'You've Got This' stamp set is just perfect for colouring.  Here I've stamped the flower head on watercolour paper and aqua painted with the new Delightful Dijon.  I've matched the deeper tones of the Dijon with the lighter Crushed Curry from the Regals collection in my choice of background designer patterned paper.

A touch of gold with the string of sequins felt like the right finish.

I have another sneak peek with this stamp set to share in tomorrow's Creation Station Blog hop - stay tuned!
