Creation Station - Halloween

Halloween is the theme for this round of the Creation Station hop.  I really had to put the thinking cap on for this challenge.  While I do have some great Stampin' Up! papers and stamps in this theme, they are now retired and the aim of this challenge is to show off current supplies.  Because Halloween is not a big occasion here in Australia, I didn't want to buy more Halloween goodies as I don't think I would have need for them.

So I went through my current stamps and found two great multi-sentiment sets that had Halloween themed wording - That's the Ticket and Good Greetings (the current special hostess promotional set).  But what imagery to add?  Then I remembered my ever versatile Owl Punch.

Pinterest has the most amazing inspiration for building owl punch characters.  I chose to feature this cute little owl 'witch', complete with flying broom stick.

Card Kit Challenge- June 2014

I was drawn to the pretty Watercolour Wonder designer series papers the second I saw them in the current Occasions catalogue. This month's competition saw participants glam up these soft tones with gold sequin trim. Please pop over to my facebook page and let me know which design is your favourite with a "vote"! For me, this lovely quiet palette struck me a perfect for a baby card.  I've used a sentiment from the 'That's the Ticket' Stamp set and added a decorative ticket beneath for layering.  The sequins are given the appearance of being pegged on the page with a gold clothes pin from SU's Metallic Mini set.  The adorable little bunny is from the "Baby, We've Grown" set.

In Class - October 2013

I am super grateful to Lisa Taylor for opening up her home and accommodating us for all again for class this month.  With the festive season just around the corner I thought it would be fun to have a Christmas card theme this session.

For this first card I wanted to go back to basics and show a design that could be put together quickly and easily in bulk if need be.

This second design features the other pattern available in the Season of Style DSP stack.  I've white washed it here to lighten it slightly to allow the gold heat embossed doily and burlap ribbon strip to stand out more.

For our third project I shied away from the browns and golds and went for a silver instead.  By special request we practiced brayering ink directly onto embossing folders and running them through the Big Shot to achieve the two toned background.  A 3D star featured prominently on the front.
