Happy Fancy Friday! The theme for this blog hop is "Just Because...". I decided to create a scrapbook page to share just because I'm looking for any excuse to catch up on a bit of memory keeping.

The Weather Together stamp set has been getting quite a workout at my craft desk this month. It's been January's product of the month focus over at The Crafty Carrot Collective. This has inspired me to create a heap of projects with it! Of course, it's imagery is the perfect fit for this cute umbrella moment.

The South Pacific Artisans have conspired to bring you a mini blog hop today that showcases the fun Day at the Beach stamp set. When I glimpsed this set in the holiday catalogue I added it to my order immediately! I think it will be perfect for embellishing a scrapbook of our family holiday to sunny Queensland earlier this year, not to mention, great for beachy inspired cards like these ones here today.

For this first card I drew inspiration from our Queensland holiday. I started with a piece of shimmery white cardstock, which I watercoloured with dapper denim and tempting turquoise. I flicked quite a bit of water on the finished panel for a blotchy, under the sea type background. I inked the Day at the Beach images with Classic Stampin' Pads and stamped them on shimmery card too, before clear embossing. The embossing helped the colour stay sharp during the colouring process - no bleeding!

For my next project, I stamped the images in black on shimmery white before watercolouring. I then fussy cut them and added them to a whisper white card base. I added the Sunburst Sayings sentiment 'you brighten my day', it seemed like a wonderful fit for this bright summery scene.

In keeping with the little watercolouring theme I had going with these projects, I was inspired to try a little messy watercolouring by this card made by Debby at Lime Doodle Designs. Day at the Beach, South Pacific Artisans Blog Hop

Shine On DSP, Balloon Celebrations, Sunburst Sayings, Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop, Papercraft by Jennifer Frost

The vibrant Shine On designer series papers really shine! Printed on kraft paper, the silver foil patterns just gleam and add a little luxury to any project - whether for a wedding or birthday!

For this birthday card I featured silver embossed balloons from the Balloon Celebrations stamp set. I felt like the cloud Shine On pattern was a great fit for these balloons. However, I wanted to add a touch of white to the pattern to help it tie in with the rest of the design. Denita Wright shared a lovely project recently where she had outlined her clouds in white gel pen and I just loved how this turned out so I borrowed the technique.

I paired this with the mixed font sentiment from Sunburst Sayings and embellished with a little silver thread and an Iced Rhinestone.

For my second project I chose sentiments that might suit a wedding, but it could also be a birthday, graduation or even an anniversary card.

For the background I die cut the Sunburst from sahara sand and layered over the white card base before adding a panel of vellum to soften it. I chose the dotted Shine On pattern for this project and instead of balloons, used elements from the Balloon Celebrations set to create a silver heat embossed dandelion.
