Hello!  I'm so happy to welcome you to my very first post as a member of the Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team. I'm so glad that you have stopped by!

A little about my Stampin' Up! Journey

I discovered paper-crafting when I first came across a local Stampin' Up! class almost 5 years ago.  I fell in love with the hobby immediately.  I had zero supplies and wanted everything in the catalogue.  I didn't have a clue what to start with for my first order.  My demonstrator told me about the Stampin' Up! starter kit and the benefits of being a demonstrator and I was sold. I never imagined I would be more than just a hobby demo, but then some months later I was asked to run a workshop.  This led to another workshop booking, which led to another... before I knew it I had a fun little hobby business which fit in perfectly around my role as a Stay-at-Home Mum.

Today, I love sharing my Stampin' Up! creations not only in classes of my own, but also through my blog here! Through this blog I've had such fun participating in online design challenges and seeing the gorgeous paper creations of other crafters from around the world - particularly the work of the talented Stampin' Up! Artisan's.

The Artisan Invitation

It was a dream come true to receive a call from Aaron at our Australian Stampin' Up! Head Office to be told I'd been selected for the 2015-2016 Artisan Design Team. Stampin' Up! have selected just 20 of their demonstrators from around the world (and just 2 from Australia) to be on this team.  I had to keep the secret of my selection to myself for a couple of weeks - this was so so tricky.
I am overwhelmingly amazed, proud and blessed to be asked to join this journey with such a ridiculously talented group of ladies!

What being an Artisan means

Every fortnight I will be sharing creations here on my blog made using goodies Stampin' Up! have sent the team.  Here is a glimpse of whats inside the box Stampin' Up! sent to get us started.

There are so many fun new sneak peeks from the upcoming Occasions Catalogue (set to be released next month) to play with. It felt like Christmas had come early when this amazing delivery arrived at my door last week!! But alas, between Christmas preparations and end of year events being planned and undertaken I haven't had a chance to play with any of it yet - it's a crime!!

Today's Creation

The English Garden designer series papers are so pretty.  I decided to pull them out and pair them with the Watercolor Wings butterfly.  It is the beginning of Summer here in Australia.  I've been taking the kids and dogs out early in the morning for our daily walk to avoid the heat.  We have such pretty bush surrounds where I live and beautiful nature tracks.  At the moment, we are seeing so many butterflies out dancing as we venture along the path.  I was inspired by their warm yellow, orange and brown tones for my butterfly here.

The sentiment is from the Silhouette and Scripts exclusive hostess stamp set.  I love that I can get the white text on a coloured background without needing to pull out my heat embossing tools and powders.

Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop

December 17, 2015

I know an adorable three year old who just loves robots.  In preparation for her third birthday party celebrations I bought the Boys will be Boys stamp set that features this super cute robot image.  I love that today's TGIF challenge sketch has three circles and that Miss 3 was celebrating her third birthday - one robot for each year!

The purple background paper comes from the Bohemian designer series paper pack and the sentiment is from the Silhouettes & Script hostess set.

Head on over to TGIF Challenges this week to see what the rest of the design team has come up with and don't forget share your creations with us - I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful weekend!

#TGIFc33 More sketch fun

December 11, 2015

It's time for the TGIF challenge remix.  This month I chose to pair the sketch and the birthday theme challenges.  I have a pack of the fun Bohemian designer series papers that hadn't been opened yet so I really wanted to pull together a design that featured one of these lively patterns.

I used the Tap Tap Tap stamp set to decorate - another fabulous product that I have yet to feature on a card!

Thanks for popping in today and don't forget to click here to check out the other designers' entries and submit your own!

Have a great weekend!

Sketch challenges are usually my favourite, but I'll admit it took me a little time to pull together a concept for this TGIF sunburst sketch that I was happy with.

I chose Mint Macaron for my card base, I'm a sponger - so it was natural for me to reach for the stamping sponge for my 'bursts' which I've done in craft White.

I've still got the Serene Silhouettes stamp set on loan from a friend (thanks Simone!), and the butterfly medallion image from this set was perfect for the centre of the burst.  I've heat embossed it in gold and set it on a background of vellum - also heat embossed with gold ink splatters from the Gorgeous Grunge set.

I added a strip of the new Watermelon Wonder lace.  The sentiment is from the Silhouettes & Script stamp set - this has quickly become a favourite!

You have a week to play along with this challenge, as always I can't wait to see your lovely creations!

#TGIFc16 Sunburst Sketch

August 14, 2015

It's time for the TGIF challenge blog's monthly remix. I've chosen to blend the 'Clean and Simple' theme challenge with the island indigo, blackberry bliss and smoky slate colour challenge.

The featured flower is Blended Bloom stamped in indigo on white and then bordered with indigo card.  I love these little Silhouettes & Script sentiments.  This little 'hello' is stamped in blackberry bliss and sits above a little looped silver thread.

I've put this panel up on dimensionals on a folded white card base that has been decorated with some gorgeous grunge stamped ink splatters from the Gorgeous Grunge set. To finish, I cut punch cut some blackberry bliss card circles and scattered these over the splatters, adding a little jewel to one to tie in with the silver thread.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.  I'd love if you could play along with us over at TGIF Challenges too!

#TGIFc14 Remix

July 31, 2015

I must admit that when I first glimpsed this week's TGIF challenge I interpreted the theme as 'baby'.  Oops - the cue was actually to feature one of your favourite new products from the latest catalogue! Luckily I'd done this inadvertently - phew!!

The brand new Stampin' Up! catalogue was released last month and has just so many gorgeous new tempting goodies inside.  Needless to say I have a huge wishlist!  One of the first stamp sets I crossed off my list was the Silhouettes & Script hostess set - so many great sentiments.  For my design today I've featured the 'hello baby' stamp from this set, applying pink and orange tones with sponge daubers onto the stamp before stamping to achieve the multi-tonal image.

The wreath sitting in behind comes from the new Hello Baby set.  I've combined this with stamps from existing favourite set 'And Many More...' (to decorate the tag) and Zoo Babies (for that super cute giraffe).

Pop on over to TGIF challenges this week to join us for this wonderful challenge.  I can't wait to see all the designs this week but I'm a bit nervous seeing all your favourites products in action is going to make my list even bigger.

#TGIFc12 Brand New

July 15, 2015

My July card-making workshop is scheduled for this coming Sunday and I had a special request for a design that might suit an 18th birthday.  The birthday girl's party theme is cowboys and cowgirls - what fun! In keeping with the theme I've chosen a timber background made using the Hardwood background stamp and the new Tip Top Taupe in-colour card. I've added some sponging in brown inks and touches of blue with an aqua painter to give the background a little depth.

The featured party hat imagery comes from the super fun new Silhouettes & Script stamp set.  It's been inked in Rose Red with Watermelon Wonder edges.  I then fussy cut it and lifted it on dimensionals over gold sequin trim and a background of watercolour paper that has been painted with  a dash of Watermelon Wonder.

A strip of the new Watermelon Wonder lace, a little gold bordering and a 'wild west' style gold star embellishment complete the design.

If you would like to see this design and other watercolouring ideas demonstrated in person, please contact me to reserve your place in this weekend's class!  For more details view my facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/events/1182104118467483/
