#TGIFc56 Love of the Game

I'll admit I struggled when I saw this theme.  I don't have any sports themed stamp sets but I do have 'Boys will be boys' and it gave me an idea.  In our house, toy play like blocks, is the kind of game my young ones love. So I thought it would be fun to play along with this challenge with one of these playful images.

Hands up if you have a large stash of retired designer series paper patterns?  I love every opportunity to use these up and this lively 'Celebrations' paper from 2011 (has it really been that long!?) was a great fit for this project.  I've matched it with the brand new Confetti Celebration sentiments which will be available for purchase with the release of the new catalogue on June 1st.

#TGIFc53 Pick your favourite!

The TGIF Challenge blog has a brand new challenge for you to try - draw inspiration from any card posted to the TGIF site in April.

The artist behind the KartenKram blog played along with our sketch challenge this month, submitting this cute birthday card which inspired my entry today.

Continuing with my little Retirement Party theme, this project features the retiring Boys will be Boys set.  I've got those little toy soldiers parachuting through a hand-sponged cloud panel, much as the cute mice float over clouds in the KartenKram design.

I've gone with retiring colours too - lost lagoon and mossy meadow.  I had played with the idea of colouring the parachutes in tangerine tango and hello honey but it just didn't feel right - the monochromatic smoky slate is more fitting with my style and suits the intended audience of an adult male.

#TGIFc33 More sketch fun

I know an adorable three year old who just loves robots.  In preparation for her third birthday party celebrations I bought the Boys will be Boys stamp set that features this super cute robot image.  I love that today's TGIF challenge sketch has three circles and that Miss 3 was celebrating her third birthday - one robot for each year!

The purple background paper comes from the Bohemian designer series paper pack and the sentiment is from the Silhouettes & Script hostess set.
