Guest Star, TGIF Challenge Blog #tgifc02

I was super excited to be asked to guest star on the new TGIF Challenge blog!  This week's challenge is to create a design using the sketch provided.  I decided to go with a baby themed project for my card.

I'm a massive fan of being able to create my own backgrounds.  Here I've used the Stars stencil from the Hearts and Stars Decorative masks pack (super affordable FYI, just $4.95) and sponged stars on a panel of white cardstock in smoky slate, hello honey and lastly some coastal cabana.  I bordered this on the front of a smoky slate folded card.

For the banner through the centre of the sketch I went with a strip of hello honey cardstock, layering a panel of vellum over the top to soften the yellow through the middle.

The Zoo Babies stamp set has so many cute images.  I chose the elephant, stamping it on the Labels Collection die cut shape in smoky slate. I stamped the same elephant on another piece of white cardstock, hand cut out the ear and layered this on the design with a foam dimensional.

The sentiment is from the same set.  I heat embossed it in white powder on a strip of black card. To finish, I added a Vintage Faceted Designer button with twine bow beside the 'congratulations'.

If you haven't taken a look at the TGIF challenge site yet then head over straight away - with the talent line up they have pulled together you certainly won't be disappointed!!

Thanks for taking some time to visit my blog.  If you have any questions or comments I would love to hear from you.
